rich

I just realized on my way to the Cherry Creek library that 'rich' is a culture. And that is what we are obsessed with. Indeed, if you take a small section of the rich and study them, you will find that their moral hierarchy is different from ours. Surely every one wants to be wealthy or at least comfortable, but many of us are hesitant to adopt their culture.

The rich have everything at their fingertips: cops, EMT, judges, whatever they need to live a worry-free life. I've also noticed that they tend to be in a hurry oftentimes, and that they are on their phones in fine cars, oblivious to all but their destination. Surely in that you can see how they are their own culture and separated from anyone beneath a certain income bracket.

I have to admit i feel a little uneasy among them. They are so privileged, and i am unlucky, and if in their midst, seen as a nuisance, perhaps dealt with with the strong arm of the law. I'm a big Easton-Ellis fan, so it's possible this is all just a casualty of literacy.
